About Us

Founded in Thailand by an American,  the name is a composite representing two markedly different but inherently complimentary cultures, and whereas ThaiAm may be a new name in the EVO market, It’s founder, Chris Fisher, has been involved in motorsports for 25 years.

In 1985, Chris was one of the first people in the United States to have a Ruf Porsche 930 (911 Turbo), a legendary vehicle built by famed German tuned Alois Ruf, whose street cars held car world top speed records for many years.

After acquiring the Ruf 930 and continuing to develop the car, PowerHaus was formed in 1988 to provide high performance parts to the Porsche community. In 1995 PowerHaus II was formed, specializing in the transmission side of Porsche, and by 1997 was a dominant supplier of gears, ring and pinions, differentials in the Porsche world market.

1997 saw PowerHaus II providing a 962 transmission for one of the four Porsche Courages and gears for all four Courages  which ran at the famed 24 Hours of LeMans with lead drivers Michael and Mario Andretti, our products performing flawlessly in the grueling event.

Over the next several years, PowerHaus II gears and products propelled Porsches to wins at many events around the world, including the 12 Hours of Sebring and 24 Hours of Daytona as well as numerous Vintage and Club races.

This long experience in the field of automotive development is now being applied to EVO and other makes.
